I see that show is no longer listed under the top 5 downloaded shows that appear on the right side of the home page. Thats odd.

AH!!

At last someone else has picked up on this subject,
please see my previous post on this:
http://www.archive.org/iathreads/post-view.php?id=71123

You guys all make some valid points - like, since the best quality shows, i.e. sbd's are no longer downloadable so most people just aren't bothering to download anything.
All these things come back, at least I think, to the point of the batting average.
The batting average keeps track of how many people viewed a show vs. how many people downloaded it.
Perhaps this was relevant at one time - however, since you can't download the sbd's, this means that the batting averages for the best shows will get worse and worse as time goes by because people will strem them but they CAN'T be downloaded.
So the batting average is a fake, a fraud, a farce - as long as sbd's can't be downloaded.

why waste time even discussing this topic. who really cares about "batting average"? From what I understand when a show is streamed, it's counted as a download. Feel free to correct me.

Is it really?
Damn.

See, I thought I had a pretty good argument for bringing the sdb's back.
Thanks for destroying that last thread of hope....

The batting average of my toilet is either one or two. Hows that for grade school "humor".

A "perfect" batting avg. is 1000. If one isn't having a perfect game in the john, perhaps more fiber is the answer. I know this ol' hippie appreciates a base hit everytime.

wouldn't crapping be more of an upload than a download? Eating is downloading...i think...?

Coffee, tea, milkshake, pee....that goes back huh? 4th grade all over again!

Have to agree with last call. That would make ralphing/barfing/etc uploading right? This isn't remotely intelligent Dead-speak is it.

I was thinking more in technical terms than directional terms. Uploads go from computer(you) to the web(toilet). Downloads go from web(fridge) to computer(you).

Now go download a banana...

I respecfully disagree, pinching a loaf is, by all means a download. But we can agree to disagree on this one, or should I say two?

C'mon, who really cares what show is most downloaded?? This isn't a popularity contest!! It doesn't bother me that most of my favorite shows don't appear, or that some of the shows on the list are overplayed and , frankly, overrated. At best, the list is a guide for a newby to get acquainted with the library. I get turned on to a lot more great shows by reading recent reviews and reading the posts and recomendations of all you folks in the forum than by looking at percentages and amounts of downloads for a particular show.

whats odd is that 6/10/73 is STILL the most downloaded -and it has not been DL'able here since Thanksgiving.

DL more auds and those most dl'd sbd's will disappear from the list. I ain't holding my breath though...

At least 8/6/71 is up there. Any lurkers or unawares, that show stands up to most sbds. If you haven't already, get that show.

And for anyone interested in high flow's fine recomendation, an upgrade is currently seeding at etree. I haven't compared it yet to what i've downed here from the archive (though my educated guess is that there is probably not all that much difference given how great the version is here on the archive), but for anyone who wants the upgrade, follow the thread. The swarm is still swarming:

I'm sure those were pre Thanksgiving downloads. While I've listened to that show a couple times, I'm still surprised its as popular as it was.
